We ordered two chairs and a Dorset side table in October from one of Modloft’s authorized online retailers, YDesign/YLiving. All were shown as in stock items when we shopped for them, but upon ordering we were told the table was back ordered and should ship about January 26th.
I called on January 30th to inquire about shipment of the table since we had not received any update or shipping confirmation. YDesign also had no updated information, but very helpfully called Modloft to check on it. Modloft told YDesign the table is actually backordered until mid-March. If it actually ships then, it will have taken 5 months for a simple side table that they supposedly keep in stock.
To say Modloft has provided us with poor customer service would be inaccurate — I consider it disservice. The lesson I take away is to shop Modloft at your own risk if you want timely delivery.

they explained the furniture would take 2 months to get here and would arrive toward the end of january. now it's the end of january and they are telling me that the furniture won't be available until may 18'. I had to reach out to them - no one contacted me to tell me why my furniture hadn't arrived yet. My rep was ryan tartisel.
*** this company.
I'm really confused how a company like this is even in business. Seriously avoid them.

Owners of modloff unethical and cheap!
I used to sell their furniture and they were super cheap! When they sent out damaged furniture they expected us to pay for it!
They never covered the wasted shipping expenses of their furniture out to customers who got damaged merchandise. They were very nice when they started but as they got bigger, they got super cheap and mean and rude and were unethical in their business practices!
I would never ever buy anything from them! They got super upset when I disputed their charges on my credit card and after that I didn't want to do business with them ever again...we did that as a last resort since they refused to take responsibility for order issues!

I bought the Jane Bed through 2modern.com. I did a thoroughly research before deciding to buy a Modloft product and to order it with 2modern.com. The reviews seemed wonderful and very professional.
Everything went good until the bed gets delivered. I took a day off from work to receive and than mount the bed myself. I was very excited, my old bed was already gone in the morning and around 9 am my Jane Bed was deivered. I could not wait to mount it together.
I start mounting it together when at some point I figure it was missing a very important screw what holds together the exterior corner of the bed. I started sweating and searched in all the boxes and on the bedroom floor. Nothing. So at around 11am friday I contacted Modloft in Miami and 2modern.com customer service to assist me with this huge issue. I was stuck. I sent out picture of the 2nd screw (1 left and 1 right) to facilitate their search for it. Since I was even ready to get one at home depot I was telling them to find out the name for it so I would try to buy one. Until that moment both customer service reps where nice and ready to make it happen, ensuring to get back to me shortly with updates.
That was Friday, March 4 around noon.
Today is Monday , 4 days later, its noon and havent heard back from neither one. I guess their weekend was more important than me having a half mounted bed, no bed where to sleep, a work day totally lost. And am still sleeping on my couch!!
I am very much done with both companies.
I don't call this superior customer service.
Awful service, leadtime, delivery etc...
Placed a simple order of 4 lounge chairs and a coffee table (which at the time showed in stock online) we have been given the run around regarding the delivery with excuses about the items being custom made in Europe etc. Here we are 5 months later, and after inquiring for the umpteenth time, we are now told that the items will ship shortly to NC (25 days of trans Atlantic transit time) and we should receive the items in Chicago possibly by mid August.
Simply ridiculous in this day and age and the awful customer service and response only adds insult to injury.
A simple apology and no offer of any discount or anything, basically that's how it is and you'll get it when you get it. DO NOT BUY A THING FROM THESE RIP OFF ARTISTS!!

Modloft is terrible. No one should ever order from them.
I ordered the Walker desk in June 2015, seven months later it is still a disaster. First they told me it was out of stock and I said I would wait. Two months later they delivered me the wrong piece! They said the one I ordered was still out of stock and I had to wait again.
Two months later they delivered me the wrong piece AGAIN! I was told the one I ordered was still out of stock and I had to wait again. Two months later they finally delivered me the right one and said their delivery company would set it up for me but when they showed up they said they couldn't set it up. And then they took some of the pieces with them when they left!!!!!!
So now I have desk pieces all over my bedroom, and Modloft said they had to reorder me the pieces. Meanwhile I am still paying full price for this item!! How have they not refunded my money just for causing me so much trouble? Worst.
